Scott Stafford

Full-time Instructor

Scott began his career with the Saginaw Electrical JATC in 2005 and completed his apprenticeship in 2010. In 2020, he joined the instructional team and went on to complete the Instructor Training Program through the National Training Institute in 2024. Scott currently teaches the 2nd- and 3rd-year curriculum for the Inside Apprenticeship Program.

Johnny Barnett

Full-time Instructor

Johnny joined Local 948 in 2017 after working for 2 years doing residential electrical. During his apprenticeship, he competed and qualified for the Ideal National electrician’s competition 4 years in a row, making it to the finals in his third year qualifying. After completing his apprenticeship in 2022 and working in the field performing controls work, he decided to come back to the JATC as an instructor, hoping to pass on his knowledge and enthusiasm for the trade. Johnny currently teaches 1st, 4th, and 5th year curriculum for the Inside apprenticeship program, as well as 1st year VDV and supplemental Journeyman classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Lee Lattimore

Part-time Instructor

Lee has over 40 years’ experience in the electrical industry. He completed his apprenticeship, through the Flint Electrical JATC in 1982. Lee became the Training Director in 1999; and completed the NJATC Instructor Training Program in 2003. During his career, Lee has been an Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, General Foreman, Steward, Local 948 Union Officer and Instructor. Lee teaches all five years of Apprenticeship Training Program and Journeyman Update.
